Cookies & Tracking

The short version: this site does not use cookies, does not use any advertising or remarketing trackers, and does not follow you around the web. We do use Vercel’s first-party Web Analytics and Speed Insights (page-view counts and Core Web Vitals, no cookies, no cross-site identifiers), and one entry in your browser’s localStorage to remember whether you preferred light or dark mode. Because we use no non-essential cookies, you will not see a cookie consent banner here — that would be misleading.

1. Cookies

www.finto.fun does not set any cookies of its own. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may set short-lived technical cookies if you trigger their built-in protections (e.g. challenge cookies during a DDoS event). These are strictly necessary, are set without your input, and we have no ongoing access to them.

2. Local storage

We store one item in your browser’s localStorage under the key finto-theme: its value is either "light" or "dark". It only exists so the site doesn’t flash the wrong theme each time you reload. We never read it server-side, never transmit it anywhere, and never associate it with your email or any other identifier.

To remove it: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Storage / Application tab, find localStorage for www.finto.fun, and delete the finto-theme key. Or use your browser’s “Clear site data” option for this site.

3. Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights on this site. These are Vercel’s first-party, privacy-friendly tools:

  • No cookies are set, and no fingerprint of your device or browser is stored.
  • No identifier is shared with any third party, and no profile is built across sites.
  • What is collected is the URL of the page you visited, a coarse country code, the type of device and browser family, and Core Web Vitals timings (load time, layout stability, input responsiveness).

We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, TikTok pixels, LinkedIn Insight, Hotjar, or any remarketing tag. The waitlist function logs technical events (success / honeypot / rate-limited / etc.) for our own debugging, but those logs do not contain a user-identifiable cookie or fingerprint — they store a salted, truncated hash of the request IP, and only briefly.

4. Third-party tracking

None. No advertising pixels (Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, etc.), no chat widgets, no social embeds, no remarketing tags. The only third parties involved in serving this page are Vercel (hosting, edge network, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights) and Google Fonts (the Inter / Inter Tight typefaces). Google Fonts may log basic request metadata under Google’s standard policies; we do not receive that data.

5. What may change at launch

When the live Finto product launches, we will likely add:

  • A first-party authentication cookie or token (strictly necessary; you have to be logged in to play).
  • The same Vercel Web Analytics + Speed Insights stack we already use here, possibly extended with a small number of named events (e.g. “prediction submitted”) that still contain no personal data.

If we ever add anything that requires consent under EU/UK ePrivacy rules, we will publish a clear consent banner before doing so and update this page. We will not enable a cookie banner pre-emptively while there is nothing to consent to.

6. Your controls

  • Block cookies for www.finto.fun in your browser settings — the site will keep working.
  • Block localStorage for this domain — the theme toggle will fall back to your system theme each visit.
  • Use a content blocker if you want to block Google Fonts — the site will fall back to your system fonts.
